That gap matters because Savannah in February is an evening problem, not an afternoon one. You will be walking the squares in a shirt at two o'clock and looking for a jacket at six.

The spread comes from two things. Different sources use different normals periods, the 30-year block the average is calculated over, and they draw on different stations: an airport reading several miles inland runs colder overnight than a downtown reading surrounded by buildings and pavement.
Neither is wrong. They are answering slightly different questions, and travel guides quote whichever one they found first without saying which.
Pack against the coldest published figure, not the average of the three. Averages also hide the tail: Savannah drops below freezing on some February nights most years. A number labelled "average low 47F" tells you nothing about the 31F morning you might actually get.

The two things you give up are daylight, which runs short, and the option of the beach. Tybee Island in February is a windy walk rather than a swim.
The Savannah Book Festival falls in February and is free to attend for most events. Beyond that, February is deliberately quiet, which is the point. If you want the city loud, come in March and pay for it.
Day one, on foot. Start in the squares, north from Forsyth Park, and let the route wander. Madison, Monterey, Chippewa and Lafayette are the ones people photograph. Add the Mercer Williams House or the Owens-Thomas House if you want an interior, and finish on River Street.
Day two, out from the centre. Bonaventure Cemetery is the one thing I would not skip, four miles east and genuinely worth the trip. Then the Wormsloe avenue of oaks, or Tybee Island if you want the water in view.
A third day buys you a slower pace and either the SCAD museum, the Pin Point Heritage Museum on the marsh, or a day at Tybee.

Look up the forecast low, not the forecast high, for your specific dates, and pack for that. The published averages disagree by five degrees on exactly that figure, so a ten-day forecast is worth more than any monthly normal, including the ones in the table above.
Then book two nights in or beside the historic district rather than out by the interstate. Savannah in February is a walking trip, and paying for the ability to walk out of your door into it is the single best use of the money you saved by not coming in March.
